Made in Britain, Made to Order: Why We’re Proud to Sell UK-Manufactured Insulated Panel

At The Insulated Panel Store, we are proud to sell insulated panel that is made here in the United Kingdom.

Not imported and relabelled. Not sitting in a warehouse waiting for someone to take a standard length. The panel we supply is manufactured in the UK, scheduled around the lengths you actually need, and finished so it is ready for your roof or room kit.

That manufacturing happens in two places we know well: Holywell in North Wales and Sherburn in Yorkshire.

Holywell, North Wales: four lines, one dedicated to the KS1000RW

Our Holywell site sits at Greenfield Business Park, right here in Flintshire. It is home to four insulated panel lines.

Line 3 is dedicated to the KS1000RW Roof Panel.

That is the trapezoidal roof panel so many of our customers specify for garden rooms, garages, studios, lodges and other pitched-roof projects. Having a line devoted to it is not a marketing line. It means the product that leaves the factory is made on equipment set up for that profile, that core and that finish.

Line 3 is also the fastest insulated panel line in the world. It can produce 15 square metres a minute.

Speed on the line is not about rushing the job. It is about capacity. When a roof is cut to custom lengths, and those lengths have to be stacked in the right order for the job, a fast, dedicated line is what makes made-to-order production realistic rather than a special favour.

Sherburn, Yorkshire: wall panels for our Room Kits

Over at Sherburn in Yorkshire, the focus is different.

That is where the wall panels for our Room Kits are made.

Garden rooms, lodge units and other kit builds live or die on the quality of the wall envelope. The panels have to be consistent, thermally efficient and ready to go together on site. Making those wall panels in the UK, to the same manufacturing standard as the roof sheet, means the kit is a system rather than a collection of leftover stock.

Two UK sites. One supply chain. Roof and wall working as they should.

Every panel is made to order

This is the part that matters most when you are on site with a tape measure.

All of the insulated panel we sell is made to order.

We do not ask you to work around a pile of standard 3 m, 4.2 m or 6 m sheets if that is not what the building needs. You give us the lengths. We schedule those lengths into production. The panel is then made and stacked in the lengths you asked for.

On a roof panel we go one step further. We make sure the cut back you specified is the cut back that is actually produced.

Cut back is easy to treat as a footnote. It is not. Get it wrong and the eaves, ridge or overlap does not sit as drawn. Get it right in the factory and the sheet arrives ready to lay, with less cutting, less waste and fewer surprises on the roof.

That is the difference between buying “a panel” and buying your panel.

Why UK manufacture matters to us — and to you

We are proud of this for straightforward reasons.

It is British manufacturing. Holywell and Sherburn are real factories with real production lines, not distant warehouses. The KS1000RW coming off Line 3 in North Wales is the same family of high-performance insulated panel used on serious commercial roofs, made available for the projects our customers actually build.

It is specified, not guessed. Lengths go onto the schedule. Cut backs are set before the sheet is made. Stacks are built in the order the job needs.

It is better for the build. Factory-cut lengths and the correct roof cut back mean less site cutting, a tighter finish and a cleaner install. That is true whether you are a trade installer doing garden rooms week in, week out, or a competent DIYer replacing a garage roof.

It keeps the work close to home. Supporting UK production in Wales and Yorkshire is not an add-on to the story. It is the story. The panel you order from us is made in this country, for this country’s jobs.

What that looks like in practice

  1. You send us the details — panel type, thickness, colour, lengths and, for roof sheet, the cut back you need.
  2. Those lengths are scheduled into production at Holywell or Sherburn.
  3. The panel is manufactured to those dimensions, not pulled from a standard stock list.
  4. Roof panels leave with the correct cut back.
  5. The stack is built in the lengths you asked for, ready for click and collect from Holywell or delivery to site.

You are not adapting the building to whatever happens to be in the yard. The factory is adapting the panel to the building.

Proud to sell it. Ready to make it.

We sell insulated panel because we believe it is one of the most practical ways to build a warm, durable, quick-to-install roof or room. We are proud to sell it because the panel itself is made here — in Holywell, North Wales, on four lines including the world’s fastest, Line 3, dedicated to the KS1000RW Roof Panel, and in Sherburn, Yorkshire, where the wall panels for our Room Kits are produced.

Made in the UK. Made to your lengths. Cut back as specified.

If you have a roof, a garden room or a kit to price, send us the lengths. We will put them on the line.
